International Quilt Market 2015 kicked off with the Schoolhouse Event Premier of Andover's Little House on the Prairie fabric collection.
This wonderful group of over 50 different fabrics is in the shop at Rocking Chair Quilts !

October is halfway done and the time is just right to host a new giveaway before we leave for Houston Quilt Market next week. We are having some wonderful fall weather here in Illinois , It makes me inspired to fill this giveaway bundle with J. Wecker Frisch's Sew Scary fabric.....So I did!
I love love love her work, and can't wait for Ms. Wecker Frisch's next fabric group, The Daily Grind to arrive here at the shop in November. I do love to sew house blocks, barn blocks & schoolhouse blocks! I think it's going to be great! Oh oh church blocks....I made a church block once....What else can you think of that would plug into the 2016 Row by Row theme of Home Sweet Home?
We packed up the shop last weekend and headed off to a local guild show- aptly named Prairie Sisters Quilt Show. A heartfelt thank you to the members of the 2 guilds who hosted us; Pieces and Patches Quilt Guild and Quilter's Plus Guild and thanks to EVERYONE who was able to attend. What an enjoyable way to support the local quilting guilds!
Here's my review....
Pleasant venue, well organized, excellent lighting in the vendor area.
We were assigned a fantastic space for set up.
Lots of friendly, helpful guild workers always nearby to lend a hand.
What a wonderful experience, I give it 5 spools!
We had a GREAT show and met loads of new people. We are looking forward to seeing all of our new acquaintances again out at the shop on Meadow Street in the coming weeks and months.
Meanwhile........ if you weren't able to attend, you can enjoy a picture show of our booth and a really wonderful Quilts of Valor display the guilds put together. thanks for watching! - Carol

The quilts of the Little House television series featured bold, bright prints that gave the show its life and color. The Prairie Flowers collection is a rainbow wave of gorgeous calicos.
WALNUT GROVE FABRIC COLLECTION
Named for the town in Minnesota where Laura’s family settled in 1874, the Walnut Grove collection features prints from the era that their quilts would have been made from. The rich, sophisticated hues in this collection beautifully capture the fabric of the time.
