It’s important to show people in plain language how our online store and all of our websites work – to help them make informed decisions about their privacy. Here is an update of our terms of service for everyone using our websites. To initiate compliance with the GDPR we’re updating our data policy to better spell out what data we collect and how we use it to feature, market and sell products in our quilt shop.
This update is about making things clearer. We’re not asking for new rights to collect, use or share your data. We’re also not changing any of the privacy choices you’ve made in the past.
What we share: We will never sell or share your information to anyone. We have a responsibility to keep people’s information safe and secure, and we impose strict restrictions and encryption on all personal data we collect from you.
Advertising: we don’t share your information with any advertisers. Our data use policy is more about how we decide which ads and offers to show you.
One company: RockingChairQuilts.com, Rocking Chair Quilts LLC, Enjoy the Sew!® and Thread Village® are all entities of the same company we NEVER share data, services, infrastructure or information with any other entity outside of those required to conduct eCommerce on our website (ex. PayPal and other providers that support our website services). We do not share your information with anyone outside of those realms.
Device information: The information we collect from the different devices you may use to visit our website is respected. The settings for data collection on your mobile devices are not altered. Regardless of the device you use to view our websites the above guidelines for how data collection and use are managed on our websites are adhered to.
Addressing harmful behavior: We have a zero tolerance of inappropriate content. Any section of the RCQ website that allows comments and user participation is closely monitored. At every turn, we combat abuse and investigate suspicious activity, including, but not limited to, analyzing the content people share.
Subscription Services: As always subscribers to email notifications have a ONE CLICK unsubscribe option to instantly unhook their email addresses from any subscription services they may have enrolled in.
Consent: When you enroll in an email subscription you are giving consent for us to send email to the address you provide, until you unsubscribe from that list.
Consent Regarding Customer Accounts and Online Ordering: When you create an account on our website or enter your personal data to place an order in our online store you are giving us consent to use this data to contact you regarding your order if needed, to process, fill and ship your order to you. Your data is never shared, sold or used for any other purpose than these listed here.
We hope you’ll find these updated and new terms and policies beneficial, but if you have any feedback, please feel free to contact us. We’ll review all feedback we receive on the matter and will take action as appropriate. Keep in mind that we may not be able to respond to these requests individually.
Overall, you should not experience any change in how you use RCQ’s products and services, and our platform will continue to provide you with the experience you’ve come to know and trust.
